Ancient Drinking Fountain This non-working water fountain was about half way up the path to the parthenon. I imagine people got thirsty walking up to the acropolis. I don't really know how old it is...

Alternate Path From Acropolis This alternate cobblestone path leads down from the acropolis in Athens. The stones are worn smooth so it was slippery walking up even with the stones being dry.

The Columns Of The Parthenon The Parthenon dates back to the 5th century B.C. It was designed by Iktinos and had no straight lines in it to compensate for the curvature of the earth. It took 9 years to construct and was finished in 438 B.C.
